Makes you feel humble

The formal part of the ceremony to dedicate the Durham Light Infantry's memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum on Sunday, in the presence of HRH Princess Alexandra (colonel in chief).
The pride of the old soldiers really rubs off on you; still gives me goosebumps.
One of the places on the DLI's colours is Afghanistan, 1919. Here we are a century later and have we learned? No. It amazes me that so many have put so much into keeping our country free at the behest of politicians, most of whom wouldn't know one end of a gun from the other.
