Colourful language!

Image
This morning I was photographing the Backstage academy run at LS Live where they were learning to use Green Hippo software for lighting set-ups. Lots of talk about colours leads to colourful language.

Redrow homes Yorkshire presented a donation to Wakefield hospice for them to buy air conditioning for their kitchen.

The light fantastic

A V Matrix of Wetherby did the lighting for a spectacular wedding at Constable Burton hall.

More jubilee stuff but not the Queen's!

Image
This time it's the turn of Saint Michael's hospice in Harrogate to celebrate their 25th anniversary silver jubilee ball at the Pavilions of Harrogate. Nice to see Bernadette Gledhill for the first time in ages (top left).

Lassie comes home

Image
How many people realise that the author of the Lassie books, Eric Knight, comes from Yorkshire? Not many; hence why the Yorkshire Society got the Lord Mayor of Bradford to unveil a Yorkshire Society plaque to his memory at Menston library, his home town.

Jubilee mania starts here

Image
The start of many jubilee events methinks; this is at the Local Care Direct staff awards (can you spot the theme?!).

Truth?

Image
Been using a new software programme that manipulates photos under the umbrella of "beauty photography", which is all the rage in the States. Whilst I can see it "improves" looks (removes skin blemishes, smoothes wrinkles etc.), does it mean the photo loses its "truth"? People keep saying they want to be airbrushed; this is how it's done these days. What are your thoughts on these before & after photos?

Any ideas?

Image
Each year I photograph the Ilkley Candlelighters ball at Rudding Park hotel, and each year they have actors playing scenes which I've never managed to work out. They're pictured here; any ideas? The theme was Pearl. Also shown are the organising committee.

They must be mad!

Husband and wife team Johnny and Lina will be setting off soon to do the Mongolia rally in a 10 year old Nissan Micra sponsored by Ring Automotive.  Best of luck! www.mongoliando.com

Ladies wot lunch

The women of the north lunch at the Majestic hotel, Harrogate. There were some posh and some not so posh accents!
