Cheney basin

Image
Never been too sure why the "lump" that is the highest point of Kippax is called Cheney basin, but this is a 360 degree panorama from on top of it.

Flowers can make anything look better

Been wandering round the local area today updating my stock image library with some spring images. Even a speed camera can look nicer with some daffs!

Mazda6 problems

I try to avoid having a rant on here, but I've had that many problems with a Mazda6 bought a few months ago, thought I ought to warn any other owners. In 2004 I bought my first Mazda6 and had it converted to run on LPG, and apart from a brake disk warping problem (replaced under warranty), I didn't have any major problems. But the latest one I've bought, a 2008 Mazda6 diesel estate, has just been a catalogue of problems, which the Mazda dealer I bought it from continually says it's nothing to do with them, out of warranty etc.. The latest; while coming down the M6 this afternoon, the tyre pressure sensor warning light came on, and within a mile I found I had a flat. Not a puncture, a corroded valve had craked in 2. Two 360 degree panoramic views of Green & Great gable, climbed and descended (just!) this weekend by the annual group trip to the lakes. I ache more each year!

Walkabout

Image
Always difficult to know what to do when covering a conference & the boss of the company goes walkabout on stage. Do I follow him and obscure everyone's view, or sit down on the front row & hope he doesn't wander too far away. I decided to sit as the stage was fairly low so I'd be in everyone's eyeline. Fortunately he regularly came back in front of me. Nisa symbol group summit at the Royal Armouries.

Leeds is under attack!

Covering a conference at the Royal Armouries today and wandered round the building for some fresh air when I came upon this in Clarence dock! It's actually a part of the museum, dedicated to submaries. Leeds is safe (for the moment).

Under dressed

Image
Dressed of Harrogate's store front. Unfortunately there's scaffolding round the front of the arcade, which I managed to bang my head on when climbing underneath to try get a decent angle. (No comments about knocking sense into me, please!).

(Any excuse to use a Morecambe & Wise joke!). A wedding dress by Benjamin Roberts at the British Bridal Exhibition in Harrogate designed for the bottom section to be removed for the evening after the wedding.
